USA Tour recap

October 26 / Toronto, ON

We rolled into Toronto around 5PM and all went to Hero Burger, a wonderful restaurant not available to us Sudburians. Delicious burgers were eaten and we were off to The Garrison, a nice club venue downtown for the pre-FUCKED UP fest show w/ Lovvers and School Jerks.

School Jerks played a tight set, and from what I could see was ex-members of Terminal State and some other Toronto hardcore people. We went up and were lucky enough to have some old friends in the crowd. The front row was great but it seems as if everybody had to work the next day and took off before us and Lovvers went up.

Thanks to Fucked Up and Mark Pesci for the show.

27 / Border crossing

What a scary day this was. Everyone was panicking and afraid that we would get turned away at the border. We took all precautions and sent our merch early, rid our MySpace of tour dates, etc. and guess what? We were through without questioning or searching, and the entire process took about 30 seconds. We took the day off to hang with Dave Starr and had some good food at Amy's Place with Kyle Paton and were served by Sheena from Lemuria. We also went to see the Get Up Kids that night in Buffalo where we all turned into 16 year old girls.

28 / Philadelphia, PA

None of us really knew what to expect in Philly. We knew the Rocky stairs and JFK plaza were in Philly but not much else. We arrived early, did all that stupid sight-seeing stuff that tourists do and landed in JFK plaza where we were greeted by a homeless man who spoke of snow, his children, and philly cheese steaks. He told us to get some cheese steaks but none of us did. We ate Thai food instead. After seeing Love Park and how massive the steps into the fountain are, we took off and went to the Terror Dome where we played with a few locals. The show was nice and tight and a lot of people had Bronchitis and H1N1. We were all afraid of dying so we played quickly and left right away. 12 hr overnight drive to DC awaited us.

29 / Washington, DC

We arrived in DC around noon the next day and we were all delirious and severely lacking sleep. We slept in a parking lot for a while and discovered how roomy this new van actually is.

We went to the house where the show was about 3 times during the day to see if we could load and try to find some wi-fi but nobody answered until 9PM. We spent most of the day in the Smithsonian museum and around downtown DC again being tourists.

After exhausting ourselves all day downtown we went to the show which was actually in Silver Spring, MD and opened up. We set up merch in a living room which is always fun. We played to a packed basement of people and then a few other bands played. The Vivian Girls closed off the night and then we were off to Gainesville.

30 / Gainesville, FL

First day of THE FEST 8. We got our passes and all of that stuff. Some of us went to see Small Brown Bike, and others to see Young Widows. This day and tomorrow are very boring and are filled with mostly waiting in line to not see bands and sitting by the pool at our hotel. Florida is too hot.

31 / Gainesville, FL

Ate lots of $2 slices at the pizza place near Common Grounds venue. Scott and Nico spotted a van on fire.

November 1 / Gainesville, FL

We geared up early and headed down to the Market Street Pub to load in our gear. We got there and were greeted by our stage manager and gear loaders. Fun stuff. We waited all day for some bands to play and we started at 6:30PM. We played, and it went over very well. A lot of friends from Ontario were here to see us and the Pub was packed. We hammered through a set, slipped in a Black Flag cover, and everybody left satisfied. No Friends and Asshole Parade were up after us and they closed off the night nicely. Thanks to Tony, No Idea Records, and the people at THE FEST 8 who helped make it all happen.

2 / Atlanta, GA

We left the morning of the 2nd to drive to Atlanta. We arrived and ate at Soul Vegetarian which was surprisingly amazing. We were invited to join their family but we decided to only eat. We arrived to the show which was at a nice DIY space called the PS Warehouse. We played a quick set and all felt like shit so we took off right after to head to Indianapolis. Shook Ones played after us but we weren't able to catch their set. Atlanta was the first appearance of what has come to be known as "metal kids dressed as punks." Enough ...

3 / Indianapolis, IN

Indianapolis ... where do we start? Scott hooked up the show at a wonderful DIY space called the Dojo and some really great openers (Picked Clean and Vital Error) played before us. We played and before we even struck a note, kids were going insane. Exactly the way a hardcore show should be.

4 / Cleveland, OH

Last day of tour. We headed into Cleveland in the afternoon and decided it was too cold to do anything so we stayed in the van all day. The show was a late one at Now That's Class and we didn't play until about 10PM. We got a ton of drink tickets that we didn't end up using and played a bit of a condensed set.

Funny thing - we went through 3 bottles of hand sanitizer hoping to not get sick and everybody got sick on the last day.

hey USA

Hi everyone

We're back from the USA and it was incredible. Thanks to everyone who put us up for the night and set us up with a show. Tour blog to come soon. For now here are some pics from our show this summer in Fredericton NB taken by Mike Erb.

Back from the East Coast

Actually, we've been back for a few days and have been too lazy to write. Anyway, we had a totally fun time visiting new places, playing old ones and sharing good times(for some of the days) with our friends Burning Love. We'd like to thank all the promoters and every one who came out to see us over the last couple of weeks. The good times will not be forgotten. We'd like to personally thank Brandon, Pierre-Luc, Amir, Dom, Andrew, Justin, Roxanne and anyone else who let us sleep on their floors or in their beds! We'd also like to shout out to our friends in the Castevetes and Brazen Hell.

We've attached some grimy pictures from our last show of the tour in Montreal. (Thanks Katie) We hope to see you all again soon. Merci!
